To progress through the floors of the Palace of the Dead (PotD) in Final Fantasy XIV, you’ll need to follow a specific set of steps and tactics to make the most of your time and effort. The dungeon is designed as a challenging, floor-based progression with a focus on defeating enemies, unlocking chests, and completing various objectives as you descend deeper into the labyrinth. Here's how to approach progressing through the floors:

    1. Starting the Dungeon
To start your journey through the Palace of the Dead, follow these steps:

Unlock the Palace of the Dead: As mentioned earlier, you must complete the quest “The House That Death Built” in New Gridania (X: 9.7, Y: 11.7) to unlock the entrance to the dungeon.
Enter the Dungeon: Once unlocked, you can enter the dungeon via the Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre (X: 10.2, Y: 9.4) and choose to enter either as a solo player or as part of a group (a party of 1-4 players).
    2. Floor Structure and Progression
The Palace of the Dead is a deep, multi-layer dungeon with 200 floors. However, you don’t need to clear all 200 floors in a single session; instead, you can break your journey into manageable chunks. Here’s how the progression works:

Starting Floors (1-10): The first ten floors are relatively easy and are often used to get used to the mechanics of PotD. These floors will give you basic rewards and are a good place to practice or level up new jobs.
Floors 11-50: The difficulty ramps up from here. As you progress through the next 40 floors, enemies get stronger, and you'll face more complex mechanics. These floors are great for leveling from 17 to 60.
Floors 51-100: These are the floors where things get significantly more difficult, with tougher enemies and the introduction of additional mechanics. They’re ideal for leveling from 60 to 100. This is where you’ll find better rewards, including the Accursed Hoards, which provide useful items and minions.
Floors 101-200: Once you pass floor 100, the dungeon becomes extremely challenging, with much stronger enemies, including elite bosses. You'll face increased mob density, and the enemies have high health pools and tough mechanics. Floors 101-200 are where players push for endgame content in PotD and where the best rewards drop, including the Labyrinth Totem and high-level gear.
